Gaming Club Network Update 9th December 2009
AGM & Council Elections
The GCN AGM will be on the 30th January at Warhammer World in Nottingham. Gareth Williams (GCN secretary) is working on the agenda at the moment so if you want to add something to discuss, please contact him via [email protected]. For more information, please look at this thread on the forum.
In addition to this, five of the six council position are up for election this year. Any member of a member club may stand as long as they are nominated by four voting members on the network (either clubs, or council members). Existing council members, knights and squire can be nominated by two voting members of the GCN.
If you are interested in getting (a lot more) involved this is a great opportunity. More information is available in this thread. The deadline for nominations is the 20th December.
Council Meeting
The next Council Meeting is on the 20th January at Warhammer World. Representatives from member clubs and all GCN Officials are welcome, however please inform Gareth Williams if you plan to attend.
New Knight
I would like to welcome Mark Walker (from Calne Gaming Club) on board as our latest GCN Knight. If anyone would like to know more about becoming a GCN Knight please contact me or look at the Volunteer Guide for more info.
GCN South Double Championships
Starting with Oxford Gaming Club this month, some of the clubs in the south have linked together a number of Warhammer 40000 doubles tournaments to find the Champion of Champions. More information is available on the forums here or contact Dan Currey..
In addition to this, there will be a GCN meeting at Spiky Club in Reading on the 21st January for the any clubs or knights in the South of England. Contact Dan if you want to come along.
GW Thankyou Day
And finally, I quick, public thank you to Matt Lincoln and the rest of the team at Warhammer World for putting on a great thank you day for the volunteers which have helped GW over 2009. It was great fun although I think I might have hexed Paul Welsh’s (from 1st Company Veterans) dice by walking past at just the wrong time (sorry Paul).
GCN Update
If anyone has any news to include in the GCN Update (or any suggestions for a better name), please email me at [email protected].
Until next time, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy gaming!
